That makes the decision narrower than the headline product range. Wizards lists Magic: The Gathering | Star Trek as a November 13, 2026 release and presents regular Commander Decks as four ready-to-play 100-card decks, separate from Collector's Edition Commander Decks, Play Boosters, Collector Boosters, Bundles, and other sealed products^[1]. A buyer choosing a Commander precon should therefore compare the regular decks first, not use a Collector Booster Display or Bundle as a loose substitute.

Google Trends data gives the category enough current support to keep watching the single-deck rows. That is enough to establish a current floor, but not enough to show where the wider UK single-deck market will settle once more retailers activate stock. A thin preorder floor can be attractive and still be provisional.

The strongest case for waiting is not the hope of a lower Borg price. It is the absence of fair comparison. Wizards presents the Commander range as four distinct regular decks, and deck choice will depend on faction preference, commanders, upgrade path, and final decklist contents^[1]. Scryfall's Star Trek search is still a limited card-context source rather than a mature singles market signal, so buyers cannot yet use individual-card prices to offset a deck premium^[6]. Until at least two more regular decks have live preorder rows, the market is pricing availability more than preference.

The Beginner Box Cancellation Does Not Move The Deck Price

The relevant official news is the September 21 cancellation of the Magic: The Gathering | Star Trek Beginner Box. Wizards attributed the cancellation to production, logistics, and shipping delays and stated that no other Star Trek products are affected^[2]. That matters because it prevents a false read of the data. The zero-listing Beginner Box is not a reason to assume regular Commander Deck disruption, and it is not a reason to treat the We Are the Borg preorder as scarce by association.

The snapshot supports that separation. Star Trek sealed rows remain active across other product types: the Play Booster Display is tracked from £139.95, the Bundle from £55.00, and the Prerelease Pack from £40.00^[5].
